Latest Beauty Buys

Hello!

& Happy Fathers Day!

I have had a long break away from my blog - so I have not been posting as much as what I hoped to have been. My blog has been on the back burner due to a busy schedule HOWEVER I am making the effort to update my old el blogo!

Last weekend I was shopping for Fathers Day Gifts in Edinburgh & much to my surprise I spent A LOT ! on myself instead. Which is always the case... when you have money and go in search of something for yourself - you find zilch/nothing!
Yet, the minute you shop on behalf of someone else is always when you see everything you want!

I live up in the highlands so I do not have much access to a lot of make up brands.
Unless I go online, search and buy which can be risque. The typical make up brands I come across are Bourjois/Revlon/Rimmel/Maybelline/Soap and Glory/Collection/L'oreal & more expensive brands such as Bare minerals/Nar's/Mac/LancĂ´me/Clinique I will find in Debenhams.

However the minute I visit a well known city like Edinburgh... I am like a little kid in a sweet shop! There is so much more to choose from!

I went in to Superdrug on Edinburgh's Princes St and came across MUA which comes across as a "cheaper" make up brand compared to the other well known high street brands. However this did not put me off I like to try new brands whatever the price.

I came across this MUA Mosaic English Rose blusher which looks amazing & has several different shades to help create the perfect shade for your complexion.

I love this Blusher! It was only £2.50 and for £2.50 it was worth it. This blusher reminds me very much of Soap and Glorys blusher with the highlighter. I definitely recommend this blusher - it goes on really light and lasts all day.

The other make up booth I went to in the Superdrug store was Make Up Revolution - honestly I did not have any clue these two brands existed until I visited this city.

. I came across this beautiful smokey eye palette called "Iconic Dreams" which cost £4.00 from Superdrug - the colours of the eyeshadows are beautiful. Filled with smokey purples and greens - it makes such a difference to the same old gold/beige/brown smokey eye palettes.

The eyeshadow itself I cannot fault it goes on well and I believe no one would be able to tell the difference from when I put this palette on to my usual urban decay. The only thing which I don't rate about this product is the cheap eyeshadow sponge brush. It does not work well or apply the eyeshadows on great at all.

The packaging looks sleak and great, shades are beautiful however Make Up Revolution should  ditch the eyeshadow sponge brush. I actually cleaned my current urban decay blending brush and used this when it came to applying this palette. I feel that if Make Up Revolution used a blending eyeshadow brush instead and added this to their products - this would benefit their palettes. Take a look of the "Iconic Dreams" palette below - so pretty:

If you have tried any new brands or come across any new products please let me know as I am always looking forward to trying out new products! Please leave comments below:
